    Streszczenie angielskie: The authors analyzed growth plate arrest in their own clinical material. There were 69 children with different types of growth plate lesions treated at the Trauma and Orthopedic Department of the District Children's Hospital in Warsaw between 1993-2000. The largest number of patients, 23, had suffered from the septic arthritis. There were also other causes of growth plate lesions, such as trauma, developmental abnormalies, bone tumours, congenital anomalies, iatrogenic lesions, and others. Sixty-one orthropedic procedures were performed. Some patients were reoperated because of recurrence of deformations during growth.
