    Streszczenie polskie: Studenci uczelni wychowania fizycznego u progu nowego stulecia powinni tworzyć grupę najlepiej wykształconych pracowników kultury fizycznej, promotorów zdrowego stylu życia. Takie są bowiem aplikacyjne funkcje założone kształcenia w Akademiach Wychowania Fizycznego. Od "jakości" ich absolewentów - w znacznej mierze - będzie zależał stan zdrowia, sprawności psychofizycznej społeczeństwa polskiego na początku XXI wieku. W badaniach założono, że kierunek studiów, konfiguracje jakie tworzą w ich obrębie poszczególne specjalności, mają wpływ na zasób wiadomości i umiejętność posługiwania się wiedzą w celu osobistej restytucji oraz wykorzystania jej w przyszłej pracy zawodowej. Teoretyczne i praktyczne podstawy odnowy biologicznej powinny stać się obowiązkowym wyposażeniem młodzieży odpowiedzialnej w przyszłości za zdrowie społeczeństwa. Jednak, ani studiowanie tej dziedziny wiedzy, ani nawet najlepsza baza materialna nie będą miały znaczenia, jeśli nie nastąpi wzmocnienie postaw młodzieżowej elity wobec prozdrowotnych potrzeb własnego ciała, i ciała jej - przyszłych - podopiecznych. Tak rozumiana harmonia postaw i potrzeb jest bowiem gwarancją propagowanego, zdrowego stylu życia. Na ten styl składają się wiedza o uwarunkowaniach zdrowia, wola do podejmowania zachowań promujących zdrowie, jak również umiejętność i możliwości tych działań.

    Streszczenie angielskie: Students of the academies of physcial education should form a group of the best- educated employees of physical education and promoters of healthy lifestyle at the thershold of the new century. Such are applicational functions assumed for teh educational process at acacemies of physical education. To a considerable extent the health condition as well as mental and physical fitness of the members of the Polish society at the beginning of the 21th century will depend on the "quality" of the graduates of these academies. In the research it was assumed that the lines of studies as well as the configurations of particular specialisations within them, havae a marked infleunce on the store of knowledge and the ability to apply it in the personal biological regeneration, as well as in the future professional careers of the graduates. Theoretical and practical basis of the biological regeneration should become obligatory "equipment" of the young people who are going to be responsible for the health of the members of our society in the future. However, neither studying this field of knowledge, nor the largest financial means will matter, if there occurs no change in the attitudes of the elite of the young people to pro-healthy needs. It appleis not only to their own bodies, but also to the bodies of the people who are going to be under their charge in the future. The harmony of attituded understood in such a way is a guarantee of the promoted healthy lifestyle, which consists of the knowledge of the elements conditioning good health, a willilngess to get involved in health promoting activities aswell as abilities and possibilities of undertking them.
