    Streszczenie angielskie: The aim of the study was the comparison of a newly developed method of quantitative analysis of the seminiferous epithelium (S) cells with the traditional method based on stage classification according to Clermont. In 4000 sections of seminiferous tubules the following parameters have been evaluated: in procedure I - the frequency of cells at the particular stages of the SE cycle, in procedure II - the frequency of particular cell types forming SE. In the two procedures, 17726 and 14670 cells were assessed, respecatively. In both procedures, the mean values of the studied cells per animal (I - 886.3 ń 15.4; II - 733.5 ń 93.9) and the distribution of the particular types of cells were similar. The new method of quantitative analysis is less laborious and cheaper. It may be applied instead of the method used so far.

    Streszczenie polskie: Przedstawiono rzadki przypadek występowania rakowiaka wyrostka robaczkowego występującego u pacjentki operowanej z powodu ropniaka jajowodu lewego. Nie ma zależności pomiędzy występowaniem rakowiaka wyrostka robaczkowego a pojawieniem się ropniaka jajowodu lewego. Nie mniej jednak zalecana jest kontrola wyrostka robaczkowego w trakcie każdej laparotomii oraz appendectomia bądź hemicolectomia w wypadku podejrzewania rakowiaka.

    Streszczenie angielskie: A very rare case of appendix carcinoid in a patient operated for left pyosalpinx was presented. On the basis of literature review and the patietn's complaints there is no unequivocal evidence indicating relationship between occurrence of carcinoid and pyosalpinx of adnexa in the patient. Check-up examination of appendix is recommended in laparotomy, and appendectomy or hemicolectomy in case of carcinoid suspicion must be performed.

    Streszczenie angielskie: Determination of the plasma (CIpi) and specific hepatic clearance (CIhp) of 99mTc-HEPIDA is gaining acceptance as one of the best tests for the assessment of liver parenchyma functional capacity. A standard method utilises numerous blood samples, collected after injection of the radiopharmaceutical, plus collection of the urine if specific hepatic clearance is required. It is not always necessary to obtain values of the clearances by means of the laborious multi-sample procedure. In the paper there are presented formulas, based on experimental data, that form the basis of a simplified method for determination of CIpi and CIhpusing single administration of 99mTc-HEPIDA. To arrive at the value of CIpi it is sufficient to withdraw 1 blood sample in the time range of 60 to 83 min post administration of the radio-pharmaceutical. If CIhp is required, additional collection of urine over the time from 0 to 88-100 min post injection is necessary. The values of CIpi obtained by the simplified procedure are in full accordance with those obtained by the reference method utilising a series of blood samples, collected from 5 to 90 min post injection. The simplified method is sufficient as a procedure for screening of patients for liver parenchymal damage.
