    Streszczenie angielskie: To the present moment the affiliation between drug-induced gingival overgrowth and plaque-induced periodontal inflammation is not yet fully elucidated. Therefore the aim of our work was to evaluate the periodontal status in patients after heart transplantation treated with cyclosporine A and other immunosuppressants. The research was made in members of Warsaw Branch of Heart Transplantation Society. In each case the through medical examination was performed. Results do not point on general incidence of gingival hyperplasia in patients after heart transplantations, though the elder patient is, the lessere extent of gingival overgrowth. In study group numerous lacks of teeth were recorded, probably due to the radical treatment of oral mouth prior to transplantation procedure. Patients with heart transplants are characterized by bad state of periodontal tissues and require further, complex periodontal therapy.
