    Streszczenie polskie: Zachorowania na różyczkę u dorosłych są rzadkie, obejmują jedynie 2 proc. wszystkich przypadków, ale mają cięższy przebieg kliniczny i wyższe ryzyko wystąpienia powikłań. W pracy przedstawiamy obraz plamicy małopłytkowej, będącej powikłaniem różyczki u 40-letniej kobiety.

    Streszczenie angielskie: Rubella is rare in adults, it covers only 2 p.c. of all cases of disease; however, when it does occur it takes a more severe clinical course and is associated with a higher complications risk: arthritis, arthralgia, encephalitis. The symptoms of thrombocytopenic purpura occur more frequently in children, 1 per 3000 of the total number of cases. In the course of rubella, the period between the occurrence of rash and the first symptoms of purpura is usually less than one week. The cause of the secondary thrombocytopenia is the induction of antibodies directed against the structural antigens of thrombocytes. The present study presents the image of thrombocytic purpura as a complication of rubella in a 40-year old woman.
