Streszczenie angielskie: The present study was designed to assess the impact of thymus ubiquitin complex (TUC) on morphological changes within the central nervous system (CNS) in pregnant rabbits with experimental antiphospholipid syndrome (APS). We also compared the intensity of neuropathological appearance and serological markers of the APS treated with the TUC. Post-mortem neuropathological investigations were done in 47 female New Zealand rabbits. The material was divided into 4 groups: Group I - 23 pregnant animals with APS; Group II - 7 pregnant rabbits with APS, treated with TUC; Group III - 7 pregnant rabbits without APS, treated with TUC; Group IV (the control one) - 10 pregnant animals without APS, intreated with TUC. The APS was induced by subcutaneous injections of cardiolipin. There were two main abnormalities within the CNS of pregnant rabbits, which could be a result of the APS: the thrombo-necrotic foci of nervous tissue, and perivascular or meningeal inflammatory infiltrates. It turned out that TUC application reduced the morphological abnormalities, but it did not eliminate them entirely. The number of cases with thrombo-necrotic changes was reduced by approximately 18 p.c., while perivascular infiltrates by 36 p.c. respectively. The TUC application did not influence the meningeal infiltration. The platelet count significantly increase (p 0.001), the activated partial thromboplastin time shortened (p 0.001), and the number of immunised animals, demonstrating positive immunofluorescence test, significantly decreased after the TUC administration...

Streszczenie angielskie: The aim of the study was to analyse the influence of TUC (thymus ubiquitin complex) on rabbit's placenta morphology in experimentally induced antiphospholipid syndrome. The material consisted of 80 placentas, descended from 40 pregnant rabbits on White New Zeland breed, divided into 4 groups: Group C - control - 20 placentas, descended from 10 pregnant rabbits, treated by natrium chloratum in doses and terms analogical with the others rabbits. Group I - 20 placentas, descended from 10 pregnant rabbits. immunisated by aubcutaneous cardiolipin administration (Biomed-Kraków) mixed with adjuvant (2 p.c. solution of aluminium hydroxide) in proportion 1:1, receiving since the 10th day of pregnancy, twice weekly 2250-3000 g. Group TUC - 20 placentas, descended from 10 pregnant rabbits, treated by intramuscular Thymus Ubiquitin Complex administration (Zakłady Farmaceutyczne Jelfa) on 20th, 22nd and 26th day of pregnancy 10 mg daily. Group I/TUC - 20 placentas, descended from 10 pregnant rabbits, immunisated by subcutaneous cardiolipin administration mixed with adjuvant (2 p.c. solution of aluminium hydroxide), receiving since the 10th day of pregnancy twice weekly and treated by intramuscular Thymus Ubiquitin Complex administration on 20th, 21st, 22nd and 26th day of pregnancy 10 mg daily. Pregnancies were terminated on the 30th day by means of caesarean section under general anaesthesia with Vetbutal and the material for histological study was collected. The preparations were observed in the microscope in the hundredfold enlargement...
