    Streszczenie angielskie: Objective: Matrix metalloproteinase 3 (MMP-3) overexpression is observed in cancer tissue. In the present work the relationship between genotypes of 5A/6A polymorphism in the promoter region of MMP-3 gene and the appearance of ovarian cancer was investigated. Patient and methods: Blood and tumour tissue were obtained from 20 women with ovarian cancer. Blood samples form age matched healthy women served as control. The genotypes of 5A/6A polymorphism were determined by PCR amplification using the allele specific primers. Results: There were significant differences in distributions of genotypes of 5A/6A polymorphism between patients and controls (p 0.05). No differences between genotypes of the 5A/6A polymorphism in blood and cancer tissue of each patient wre found. Conclusion: The results obtained indicated that the 5A/6A polymorphism of MMP-3 gene may be linked with appearance of ovarian cancer.

    Streszczenie angielskie: The goal of the treatment of dentin hypersensitivity is to reduce it or to eliminate it completelly. System desensitzer is a new agent for the treatment of dentin hypersensitivity, especially after cavity preparation and after preparation of tooth surfaces before cementation of prosthetic crowns. It possible that its application to the root surface may provide a biocompatible surface for the deposition of a new cementum layer and new periodontal fibres during periodontal regeneration therapy.

    Streszczenie angielskie: Pituitary adenylate cyclase-activating polypeptide (PACAP38) potently stimulates cyclic AMP formation in slices of chick cerebral cortex. One- to fifteen-minute pretreatment of slices with 30 nM PACAP38 led to a time-dependent attenuation (when compared with values observed in the control tissue) of the cyclic AMP response produced by subsequent re-stimulation with 1 ćM PACAP38. Concentration-response curve for restimulation with PACAP38 applied at 0.01 - 1 ćM to tissue slices preincubated for 15 min with 30 nM PACAP38 revealed dose-dependent decreases in subsequent cyclic AMP responses by 16-37 p.c. It is concluded that in chick cerebral cortex, the receptors mediating PACAP-driven cyclic AMP responses (PACAP1 receptors) undergo rapid homologous desensitization.
