Streszczenie angielskie: The aim of the study was the evaluation of the incidence of neonatal pneumonia in babies born after normal gestation period, and the determination of the clinical image characteristic at this age, which would be useful in differentiation between pneumonia and other pathologies of the neonatal period. It should be bone in mind that congenital pneumonia and pneumonia acquired during the neonatao period may manifest itself soon after the discharge of a neonate from the hospital ward. The selected group of babies were divided into 3 sub-groups: A - with positive CXR result in the direction of pneumonia, B with other changes observed in CXR (decreased pneumatization of lung fields, disorders in blood supply to the lungs, abnormal shape of the heart suggesting heart disease, enlarged thymus), C - with no changes noted in CXR. In addition the analysis covered 233 neonates (14.42 p.c. of the babies born) requiring antibiotic therapy due to suspected neonatal infection...
