    Streszczenie angielskie: The article summarize the extraction methods of the raw material plants as well as the extracts and organic fractions originating from plants, which are used in the phytochemical analysis. The classical methods of solid-liquid extraction such as Soxhlet extraction, single solid-liquid extraction, shake-filter method have been discussed besides the more modern methods as automated Soxhlet extraction, sonication extraction, several techniques of microwave assisted extraction, SFC, techniques of forced flow extraction and other. Among the extraction methods of the plant samples being liquids have been described liquid-liquid extraction, microextraction, different techniques of SPE (cartrigdes, disks, membrane disks, "96 well plates") countercurrent extraction, CPE and other.

    Streszczenie angielskie: For some years now there has been a systematic increase in the number of reports on new secondary metabolites of truxillic and truxinic acid derivatives. The paper offers a presentation of existing forms of cyclobutanodicarboxylic acids in plant kingdom, while considering their stereochemical structure and biosynthesis. Also presented are some results of research on the pharmacological activity of synthetic and natural derivatives of these compounds. The paper shows additionally the results of search in nature for compounds containing fragments of truxinic acids seen against the occurrence of other compounds of cyclobutane derivatives in plant kingdom.
