    Streszczenie angielskie: In this study the oral health of 249 patients from the Warsaw region, with well controlled diabetes mellitus was analysed. The patients were divided into three groups according to age; 35-44, 55-64 and 65-74. The control group consisted of 266 healthy subjects in the same age groups. The patients under care were examined using standard methods recommended by the WHO: DMFT index and Dental Treatment Index. The results were compared with control groups and between age groups. The dental health in both group was unsatisfactory. The DMFT index was higher in the diabetics, but the difference was not statistically significant. The most frequent dental treatment needs were for partial dentures, and the next most frequent, for restorative treatment of dental caries.
