    Streszczenie angielskie: The authors indicate that environmental pollution is nowadays probably one of the major factors being the reason of children's biological development distempers. The lack of univocal works concerning the sphere of organism and strength of affecting the environmental pollution determine the authors to undertake the problem. The aim of work was the estimation of the influence of the pollution in the living area on the morphofunctional development of the children. The research was provided in autumn 1998 in selected villages in south-west Poland: Kotla, Rosochata and Rzeszotary. Medium-year subsidence of lead (Pb) and cadmium (Cd) on Kotla is much more than on Rosochata and Rzeszotary. Basic somatic and functional traits were measured in children. Next the children from Kotla were compared to the children from Rosochata and Rzeszotary to estimate the influence of pollution on biological growth of children. Authors suppose that the factor analysed in the work didn't affect somatic traits and conditional abilities (based on energy changes and structural predisposition). It seems that pollution factor affects coordinational predispositions (based on nervous system) but only in boys.
