    Streszczenie angielskie: Centrally acting antihypertensive drugs are: classic sympatholytics which stimulate centrally alfa-2 adrenoreceptors (clonidne, methyldopa, guanfacine, guanabenz); moxonidine and rilmenidine, which stimulate I1 imidazoline receptors with small affinity to alfa-2 adrenoreceptors; urapidil, which has a peripherial alfa-1 blocking action and interacts with general serotonin receptor and a central depression of sympathetic tone. This review discusses mechanisms of action of this agents, their indcations, adverse effects and efficacy.
