Streszczenie angielskie: The complexisty of problems faced by a child with infantile cerebral palsy (ICP) makes it necessary to include many correlated factos in the treatment. They are: clinical, motor, psychological and social. The aim of the treatment of a child with ICP is to achieve such motor skils which besides the permanent cerebral palsy are as close as possible to those of healthy children and which will prevent fixing those improper motor models, occurrence of muscular contracture and secondary deformations of ostearticular system. Conducted studies have enabled the observation of the relation between the Apgar scale postnatally and the motor skills in children with ICP complex. Based on the study it could be concluded that in some cases there is no correlation between the Apgar scale and the degree of motor skills in a child with ICP. It can be understood as the complex of symptoms observed and recorded after the child delivery is exclusively related to the central nervous system. However, the occurrence of changes in the central nervous system exhibited in permanent ability trauma in the said complex is to a large degree related to different levels on the Apgar scale. A properly performed rehabilitation process should be started early and when continued, especially by the parents, it increases the possibility for a child with ICP to achieve a good state of motor skils and independence. Even in the cases of a low level on the Apgar scale.

Streszczenie angielskie: The quadriceps muscle of thigh, is tendon, the patella and its ligament with the attachment to the tibial tuberosity form an active unit which plays an important role in the stability of the knee joint during both the flexaion and the extension. Injuries frequently result from an indirect trauma and affect the weakest link of this chain. In the case of injuries to the extensory system, the fastest possible reconstruction. In the case of injuries to the extensory system, the fastest possible reconstruction of the system should be insured. it should be reconstructed so to perform its functions. Once the proper diagnosis is made the treatment can begin. Both medical and surgical treatment can be applied. It is important that the treatment methods insure sufficiently tight anastomosis of the extensory system which would permit early application of rehabilitation. The aim of treatment, besides tight and rapid anastomosis, should be the recovery of the knee joint efficioency. It should be initiated early and it should be intensive to prevent the consequences of the lack of movement mainly including the atrophy of the quadrioceps muscle of thigh. Undertaking quick, properly prformed rehabilitation enables the rapid recovery of the full range of movements of the joint and the performance of a very important role the knee plays in the process of locomotion.
