Streszczenie angielskie:
The study was performed on 82 small saphenous veins in human fetuses of both sexes aged 9 to 37 weeks. The earliest valves were observed in 13 week-old fetuses. In fetuses between 13 and 18 weeks old the number of valves increased from 1 to 8. In the older fetuses between 19 and 37 weeks the number of valves varied from 5 to 9 and does not seem to be relsated to age. During development more valves were found in the upper part of the small saphenous vein. The height of valves increases with age and differs between particular valves of the same vein.

Możliwość pola zabiegowego maks. do 40 x i trzykrotnie lepsze oświetlenie w stosunku do lamp powszechnie używanych w chirurgii pozwoliły na znaczną poprawę jakości procedur dentystycznych.

Ultrastructural study was performed on inferior ganglia of the vagus in human embryos age 7 and 8 weeks (developmental stages 18 to 23, 44 to 56 days). The growth cones are observed between the bundles of axons of the inferior ganglia of the vagus. Many primitive synapses (protosynapses) between dendritic and axonal growth cones are observed.

Streszczenie angielskie:
The intracellular second messenger nitric oxide (NO) is implicated in a variety of physiological functions, including release and uptake of dopamine (DA). In the described study, in vivo microdialysis and differential pulse voltammetric techniques were used to determine the involvement of NO in release of DA and its metabolites (dihydroxyphenylalanine, DOPAC; homovanillic acid, HVA) in neostriatum of freely moving rats. While the NO donor molsidomine (30.0 mg/kg; MOLS) and neuronal NO synthase-(nNOS-) inhibitor 7-nitroindazole (10.0 mg/kg; 7-NI) had no effect on the basal in vivo microdialysate level of DA, 7-NI specifically enhanced D,L-amphetamine- (1.0 mg/kg i.p.; AMPH) evoked release of DA. Basal or AMPH effects on DOPAC and HVA levels were not influenced by MOLS or 7-NI. Findings indicate that nitrergic systems have an important role in mediating effects of AMPH on dopaminergic systems.

Streszczenie angielskie:
The aim of the study was the clinical assesment of the calcium hydroxide points (ROEKO) used in the infected root canals treatment. 73 teeth (121 root canals) were submitted into the study, and finally 66 teeth with a diagnosis of irreversibles pulpitis were evaluated. After anamnesis and clinical evaluation of every single patient were completed the root canals were negotiated according to the chosen methodology. The Calciumhydroxid points (ROEKO), were applied intracanally during the routine root canal treatment. The time of treatment and the number of necessary appointments to have the endodontic therapy successfully completed were taken into account while evaluating the effectivenes of Ca(OH)2 points. The application of Calciumhydroxid points resulted in the limiting of the necessary medical appointments, and in reducing the time of conventional root canal treatmetn to 2.6 appointments on average. Ca(OH)2 guttapercha points are revommended in infected root canals treatment.

Streszczenie angielskie:
Background: This study was carried out to evaluate the influence of melatonin concentration on rat bone marrow megakaryocyte outward K+ current and its implications with regard to platelet production. It is the Author's view that the greatly extended development of megakaryocyte membrane, together with its ion channels, makes the choice of this topic particularly pertinent. Material and methods: megakaryocytes from fresh Wistar rat bone marrow were clampaged with patch-clamp technique and the examination of membrane outward current was performed when melatonin dissolved in external or internal standard solution was used. Results: On the basis of this study, melatonin does reduce outward K+ current intensity, the more the higher the melatonin concentration. In quantitative terms, whereas no change is noticed when dissolved melatonin concentration in external standard solution is smaller than 25 ćM, at 50 ćM only a delayed outward current decrease appears. The effect on the outward current intensity is reversible at least until melatonin concentration reaches 500 ćM; when melatonin concentration is higher than 1000 ćM the effects is demonstrably irreversible. The presence on the megakaryocyte membrane of internal standard melatonin solution does reduce the outward current even more sharply. Conclusions: There seems to be a positive correlation beween cationic pump and megakaryocyte intimate processes of platelet production.
