Streszczenie angielskie:
The aim of this study was to establish whether tooth pulp and periaqueductal central gray (PAG) stimulation affects the release of substance P (SP) into the fluid perfusing the cerebral ventricles in rats. The content of substance P in the cerebrospinal fluid and fluid perfusing cerebral ventricles was determined during incisor pulp stimulation with electrical impulses inducing nociceptive trigeminohypoglossal reflex and then during inhibition of the reflex by stimulation of PAG. Perfusion of the cerebral ventricles was carried out using artificial cerebrospinal fluid (aCSF). SP-like immunoreactivity (SP-LI) was determined in the samples by radioimmunoassay. Samples were collected in four groups: first group - cerebrospinal fluid (CSF); second group - aCSF perfusates without stimulation; third group-aCSF perfusates during incisor pulp stimulation; fourth group-aCSF perfusates during incisor pulp stimulation and simultaneous inhibition of trigemino-hpoglossal reflex by PAG stimulation. It was shown that incisor pulp stimulation led to the increased release of SP-LI into the fluid perfusing cerebral ventricles. Stimulation of PAG reduced the release of SP-LI into the cerebro-ventricular system to the values obtained before the tooth pulp stimulation. The results indicate that PAG significantly inhibits the release of SP-LI into the rat cerebral ventricular system and may be involved in the inhibition of trigemino-hypoglossal reflex.

Streszczenie polskie:
Artykuł przedstawia przegląd badań, dotyczących psychologicznych aspektów funkcjonowania rodzin dzieci z astmą oskrzelową. Wyniki eksploracji ujawniają dysfunkcjonalność rodzin w zakresie relacji wewnątrzrodzinnych i procesu komunikacji w małżeństwie.
The article presents the review of research concerning psychological aspects of asthatic children's families functioning. The results show disfunctioning of these families in the area of inter-family relationships and communication of marreid couple. The researchers point out that there is a feedback relationsip between disorders of family functioning and steengthening child's asthma symptoms. They also show parents' overprotective attitudes and their excessive critcism. The article contains the scientific results which prove that fathers must take an active part in the process of rehabilitation and that asthmatic children families should be supported aby professional pscyhlogical care.

Streszczenie polskie:
Artykuł prezentuje przegląd interdscyplinarnych badań dotyczących wpływu astmy oskrzelowej u dzieci na ich procesy poznawcze i funkcjonowanie szkolne. Wyniki prac, przeprowadzonych w latach 70-tych i 80-tych dotyczące omawianego zagadnienia ujawniły negatywny wpływ farmakoterapii na pamięć, uwagę i funkcjonowanie intelektualne uczniów astmatycznych.

Opioids administered by intracerebroventricular injections produce analgesie responses in rats. The present study was undertaken to investigate the effects of a highly selective ć-opioid receptor ligand morphiceptin on trigemino-hypoglossal reflex in rats. The analgesic effect of morphiceptin was compared with another opioid peptide, Met-enkephalin. With the experimental settings used in the study, we have demonstrated that both morphiceptin and Met-enkephalin show significant dose-dependent analgesic effects after i.c.v. administration in rats as assayed by trigemino-hypoglossal reflex test. The antinonciceptive response to Met-enkephalin was short lasting and was observed 10 to 15 min after i.c.v. perfusion. Morphiceptin had a relatively longer duration of antinociceptive action, the effect was observed 20-50 min after i.c.v. perfusion. Neither morphiceptin nor Met-enkephalin produced antinociception after peripheral injections. The results of the present study indicate that both tested peptides act at ć-opioid receptors situated in the central nervous system. They also suggest that ć-opioid receptors present in the central nervous system are an important element of the trigemino-hypoglossal reflex arc. For that reason selective ć-opioid receptor ligands, like morphiceptin, inhibit the reflex more significantly.
