    Streszczenie polskie: W pracy przedstawiono poglądy na temat etiologii zapaleń przedniego odcinka błony naczyniowej. Omówiono znaczenie najbardziej predysponujacych czynnikiów: genetycznego - szczególnie obecność antygenu HLA B27 - oraz zakażeń bakteryjnych, spowodowanych głównie przez bakterie Gram-ujemne. Badania eksperymentalne dotyczące doświadczalnego zapalenia błony naczyniowej wywołanego endotoksyną, przeprowadzane na modelach zwierzęcych, pozwalają częściowo wyjaśnić przypuszczalne patogenetyczne mechanizmy tych chorób.

    Streszczenie angielskie: The paper present an overview on the anterior uveitis etiology. The significance of the most predisposing factors: the genetic one, especially antigen HLA B27 and bacterial infection, mostly Gram-negative, are discussed. The research concerning endotoxin-induced anterior uveitis on the animal models offer the possible explanation for the pathogenesis of human disease.

Autorzy przedstawiają poglądy dotyczące wpływu hormonów płciowych na występowanie niedoborów w składzie filmu łzowego, szczególnie podkreślając istotną role androgenów, w przeciwieństwie do sugerowanego w poprzednich latach wpłwyu estrogenów, co może mieć w przyszłości następstwa terapeutyczne.

    Streszczenie angielskie: Dry eye syndrome is the results of the disorder in the tears film function. The authors present the findings concerning the influence of the sex hormones on the deficiency in the tears film structure, especially the important impact of the androgens, in opposite to the estrogens. The presented results suggest the new trends for the therapy.

    Streszczenie angielskie: We studied the influence of the nitric synthase inhibitor (L-NAME) on the induction of uveitis in Wistar rats. The inflammation was induced by a footpad injection of endotoxin in rat. Th eclinical signs were evaluated in a slit-lamp, the intraocular pressure was measured using Tono Pen tonometer. We showed, than in endotoxin-induced uveitis the intraocular pressure elevation was observed and that L-NAME application reduced the inflammation and the level of the intraocular pressure.

    Streszczenie angielskie: Purpose: The evaluations of color vision sensitivity in children with type I diabetes mellitus without retinopathy. Material and method: We examined 96 young patients. They was divided into three groups: I: 35 children from 7 to 16 years old with insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus duration of 1 - 8 years, II: 30 children with type I diabetes lasting more then 8 years, III - 31 non - diabetic subjects as a control - matched for age and sex, without visual or systemic symptoms. THe examinations of colour vision sensitivity wer done with the IF - 2AII - color Anomaloscope. In all cases were tested the dynamic blue- gree equation of Moreland and two variables were determined: setting (matching) range (SR), calculated mid point (matching mid point) (CMP). Results: In the blue - green equation setting range (SR) was significantly (p 0.01) enlarged in the II group (diabetes mellitus duration 8 years) and calculated mid point (CMP) was shifted but no significant. The results indicate a diminution of the colour discriminating sensitivyt in the short wavelength half of the visible spectrum and diminution of the blue cone sensitivity in early diabetic retinopathy. Conclusions: Blue - green colour vision testing with the anomaloscope may serve as an additonal test in the diagnosis of early diabetic retinopathy in children without vascular changes at the eye fundus.
