    Streszczenie polskie: Przedstawiono przypadek chorego z urazowym złożonym uszkodzeniem trzustki i dwunastnicy oraz naczyń okołotrzustkowych, u którego z powodzeniem wykonano duodenopankreatektomię ze splenektomią. W przebiegu pooperacyjnym wystąpiły liczne powikłania: krwawienia do jamy brzusznej, ropnie wewnątrzbrzuszne, przetoki żółciowa i jelitowa. Omówiono diagnostykę i leczenie operacyjne tego typu urazów.

    Streszczenie angielskie: The paper presents a patient with a traumatic combined injury of pancreas, duodenum and peripancreatic vessels successfully treated by performing duodenopancreatectomy with splenectomy. Severe complications developed in postoperative period: postoperative haemorrhage, intra-abdominal abscesses, biliary and intestinal fistula. The diagnostics and operative treatment of such injury were discussed.

    Streszczenie angielskie: Backround: Klippel-Trenaunay Syndrome (KTS) is rare vascular malformation characterized by a triad of findings: hypertrophy of bony and/or soft tissue, varicose veins of the lover limbs and port-wine stains. In the mild form one component of the triad is lacking. Furthermore in Klippel-Trenaunay syndrome symptoms from nervous system, mental development anomalies, psychiatric disorders, vasomotor symptoms and trophic signs, and congenital malformations can occur. Material/Methods12 patients (9 women and 3 men), aged 8-30, suffering from Klippel-Trenaunaysyndrome were observed. In 11 patients full triad of symptoms occurred. The diagnosis was confirmed by X-ray of bone system, color Doppler ultrasound, venography and arteriography. Results: The X-ray examination confirmed asymmetry and hypertrophy of lower limbs in all patients. Color Doppler ultrasound and venography revealed abnormalities in the venous system in 11 patients. Arteriography in 2 patients revealed small ramifications of arterial vessels ending with tufty and glomerular angiectasia. On the basis examinations 5 patients were qualified for the operation of removal of varicose plexuses. Conclusion: A multidisciplinary care is needed in the diagnosis and treatment of KTS. Early diagnosis is very important for proper and effective therapy. The treatment options are limited - in majority of cases only conservative treatmnet is available.
