Streszczenie angielskie: Matrix metalloproteinases (MMP) are a large family of hydrolases contributed to both normal and pathological tissue remodeling. There is an accumulated data showing that bacterial lipopolisaccharide can stimulate MMPs expression in many models in vitro. The aim of this study was to assess the MMP-2 and 9- expression in LS 180 cell line stimulated with LPS in dose of 0.14 ćg/ml. Into our experimental work we employed many different techniques such as: RT-PCR, fluorescent immunocytochemistry and zymography. According to our data there were no differences in MMP-2 and MMP-9 expression as was shown by means of RT-PCR and fluorescent immunocytochemistry. Because immunocytochemistry was not able to distinguish active and inactive forms of metalloproteinases zymography was incorporated to measure amounts of different forms of MMP-2 and MMP-2 secreted to culture medium. Assessment of the obtained results showed slightly elevated level of proMMP-9 and MM-9 after LPS stimulation. For MMP-2 similar effects was not seen.
