Streszczenie polskie:
W pracy przedstawiono krótką charakterystykę technik biologii molekularnej, wykorzystanych w badaniach podłoża molekularnego chorób tkanki łącznej i innych chorób skóry. Uważa się, że nieprawidłowa ekspresja wirusów egzo- i endogennych może prowadzić do wzmożonej odpowiedzi immunologicznej i rozwoju chorób tkanki łącznej. Wykorzystanie technik biologii molekularnej Northern blot, Southern blot, PCR (ang. polymerase chain reaction), RT-PCR (ang. recerse transcriptase PCR) pozwoliło zidentyfikować ekspresję HERV Human Endogenous Retrovirises w chorobach autoimmunologicznych tkanki łącznej. Przyczyniło się także bezpośrednio do unowocześnienia diagnostyki innych chorób skóry.
Streszczenie angielskie:
We briefly described the techniques of molecular biology used to investigate the molecular bases of connective tissue diseases and other skin diseases. It has been reported that improper gene expression of Human Endogenous Retroviruses (HERV) may result in developmnet of autoimmune diseases. Northen blot, Southern blot, PCR (polymerase chain reaction), RT-PCR (reverse transcriptase PCR) techniques allow us to determine the role of HERV expression in autoimmune connective tissue diseases. These techniques have also directly contributed to advance in clinical diagnosis of others skin diseases.

Streszczenie angielskie:
Sprague-Dawley rats and several inbred strains of mice were compared with respect to the induction of 4S á-naphthoflavone-binding protein expression by treatment with á-naphthoflavone (BNF), an aryl hydrocarbon receptor (AhR) ligand. Inbred strains of mice chosen for the study encompassed 3 allelic forms of AhR found in Mus musculus so far. As it was reported by us earlier, treating rats with BNF caused a significant induction of BNF-binding protein expression. By contrast, no BNF-binding protein was detected in mice treated with BNF in corn oil as a vehicle or with corn oil itself.
